Cremation is the preparation of the body for memorialization just as traditional in-ground or full-body crypt burial. Options for the final disposition of cremated remains and the subsequent memorial used to honor your loved ones are many and varied.
According to the 1983 Code of Canon Law (Canon 1176), it states, “the Church earnestly recommends that the pious custom of burying the bodies of the dead be observed; it does not, however, forbid cremation unless it has been chosen for reasons which are contrary to Christian teaching.”
St. Joseph's Cemetery offers in-ground cremation burials and shrine columbarium burials. Risen Christ Mausoleum offers niches inside and outside as well as mosaic tile and glass-front niches for the placement of cremated remains.
